Acads: Do or Die!!!
Well, not literally :). No one is gonna kill you if don't concenterate on acads, but neverthless u will have to face the consequences.Acads are the life and breath of IIML. The institute believes they are to be given the first preference, only then should extra curricular activities take place. The system is also pretty tough and rigid, with very high importance given to attendance (min 80%). Class participation, Assignments, Quizzes, Presentations, MidSem, EndSem are just some of the parameters on which we are evaluated. The insti is actually against committees as it believes they hinder academic performace! Not many agree to that but again, that depends on each individual.
7/10 is apparently a good CGPA, and 8 will take you into the top 5. Grades are given from A+ to D, and F is a fail grade. Most of the profs are OK in terms of grading. You perform, you get.
Though the insti says the CG will not be revealed to the companies that come for placements, you never know when the system is changed. Better not to take risks.
There is a minimum performance level to be maintained, failing which you will be made to repeat the year again.
Though we have ample opportunities to improve ourself in lotsa aspects, it again boils down to effectively and judiciously using the time for different purposes.
